Scent Profile:
Rapture is a perfume that masterfully blends spicy oriental notes with sumptuous florals to create an alluring and complex scent. The name "Rapture" evokes a sense of intense pleasure and bliss, aligning with the fragrance's ability to captivate and enchant.
The opening of Rapture introduces a burst of vibrant and tangy freshness. The clementine offers a bright, citrusy zest with its juicy and slightly sweet character, creating an initial spark of energy. Following closely is the blackberry, which adds a rich, fruity depth with its luscious and slightly tart flavor, creating a delectable contrast. The orange blossom brings a floral, citrusy sweetness that harmonizes with the other top notes, imparting a sense of elegance and brightness.
As the fragrance evolves, the heart reveals a lush bouquet of floral and exotic elements. The vanilla orchid adds a creamy, sensual touch, its smooth and rich scent blending beautifully with the other florals. Freesia introduces a delicate, fresh floral aroma, reminiscent of a blooming garden with its light, airy quality. The jasmine contributes a deep, intoxicating floral note with a hint of sweetness and warmth, enhancing the fragrance's romantic appeal. The Bulgarian rose offers a classic and luxurious rose scent, rich and velvety, adding depth and sophistication to the heart of the fragrance.
The drydown of Rapture reveals a warm and enveloping base. The amber provides a resinous, golden warmth with a slightly sweet and spicy undertone, creating a rich, exotic foundation. Musk adds a sensual and animalic touch, its subtle earthiness blending seamlessly with the other base notes. The vanilla reinforces the fragrance's creamy sweetness, offering a comforting and familiar richness. Finally, heliotrope introduces a soft, powdery sweetness with a hint of almond, completing the fragrance with a gentle, enveloping finish.
Overall, Rapture combines these elements into a fragrance that is both captivating and evocative, blending spicy, floral, and oriental notes to create a scent that is both luxurious and irresistibly alluring.

I loved Rapture and always got many comments about the great scent. I still have some left, but know it's coming time for me to find a replacement scent. Does Victoria Secret have anything remotely similar to Rapture? Maybe since it's been out of production for a bit, they are contemplating a return soon?
ReplyDeletePLEASE BRING RAPTURE BACK. I LOVE IT!!
ReplyDeleteI have worn RAPTURE since 1993. I have NEVER had an alternative perfume. I am devastated by the decision Victoria's Secret has made to discontinue this scent.I cannot understand the logic behind doing so when every VS employee says it was one of their longest running and had faithful Rapture lovers. Those of us that have worn this frangrance over the years are devoted to this scent. We do not care to wear FRUITY, CANDY smells as we are mature women that have aged right along side with RAPTURE. VS will lose business of those of us that bought only from them. This will not close their doors but, it will increase profit for others that target all age groups. Please bring RAPTURE back!!!
ReplyDeleteOMG I feel the same way!! Been searching EVERYWHERE, nothing comes close ~ I will buy a case of it if I ever see it!! The stores in NJ keep telling me to check during Anniversary sale but it's been awhile now!! I'm so upset, I feel if they bring it back they are going to change something!!
DeleteI am right there with you. How are we supposed to ever be happy again. My children grew up calling it the "momma smell" they are all adults now and when they come to visit they look for the momma smell to put on their favorite shirt before they leave. Now what do I do?
DeleteDitto to Melissa Kerry. I bought this every time I needed more and then discovered to my dismay that it's not available. This was my go to scent.
ReplyDeleteWith how popular Rapture perfume was, I was surprised that VS decided to discontinue it. Not sure what the decision was behind discontinuing it but it would be most appreciated it VS brought Rapture perfume back. I am completely loss without it. Cannot find anything that even closely compares to Rapture perfume. It was a very popular perfume. Why would you discontinue something that is popular and making you money? Please bring it back.
ReplyDeletePlease bring back RAPTURE. It is the best perfume Victoria Secret has ever had. (my opinion) Nothing I have worn compares to Rapture. I always get a compliment when I have it on. I bought Tease to try and it doesn't compare. Not one compliment on the scent and the scent fades quick unlike Rapture. I don't understand why they would discontinue this perfume since so many bought it and they really couldn't keep it in stock at the store I shopped. PLEASSSSEEEE bring it back.
ReplyDeleteSo so missing Rapture. 😕 Have been devoted since its release in 1992. Its my husband's favorite and I have not found anything he likes as well. Does anyone know if their "new" Rapture is similar in frgrance?
ReplyDeleteMy wife used Rapture perfume and I want it back!!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree. I used Rapture from the beginning and would always buy something else in the store when I would get my perfume. Now I am without a perfume. Do not like the others scents and do not go in VS anymore. Please bring my fragrance back.
ReplyDeletedoes anyone know how the “new” Rapture version by Victoria Secret compares?
ReplyDeleteI loved rapture! My little 16 year old self thought I was the cats meow! The only thing that is remotely similar is the OG formulation of Bijan By Bijan. ( It has a white cap, not a clear one) You have to hunt it down since it’s not available on the mainstream scene.
